To be fair (and I posted this on my Facebook which a friend pointed out to me), the actual original content itself isn’t so bad–it’s basically condensed marrow, leftover meat on the bone, and bone itself. A lot of cultures outside the “westernized world” eat this for subsistence.
It’s the additives (including ammonia) which are godawfulicknast. If I recall, it’s mostly pink because of food coloring since it’s also used in hot dogs and bologna which resemble the color.

I agree though, the additives are an excellent source of “ew” factor. Jamie Oliver would have a fit.
